  • Is There a Brake Controller Adapter for 2014 Coachman Freelander
  • Hey William, so if you have a factory 7-way at the rear of your 2014 Coachman Freelander there is some brake controller wiring ran but not an adapter plug like you asked about. What is there is just a wire for the brake output circuit which the blue wire of the brake controller would wire to. This is near the emergency brake pedal. For a controller the Prodigy P2 part # 90885 is a really great choice that would work great. It's super reliable and performs the best.

  • How to Minimize Trailer Movement While Towing with a 2016 Ram 1500
  • There are a handful of things to look at with your towing setup, but the first and most important is to make sure you're using a weight distribution system with your towing setup. A weight distribution system will help keep your towing rig level as well as keep the trailer from swaying back and forth so the right one should take a lot of the movement you're feeling out of the equation. A good solid choice is the Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control # BLU47FR which has a...

  • Recommended Water Tank Heater For A 13 Gallon Flat Water Tank
  • Good morning and thank you for your question. I recommend for you the Therma Heat RV Holding Tank Heater Pad # 277-000164. This is a 18-1/4" long x 12" wide heater pad so you will want to make sure your tank has adequate surface area. There is also a 25" Long x 7-1/4" Wide pad available # 277-000163 if that will be a better fit. The best thing about this pad is the built in thermostat that automatically operates the pad. It will only come on when the temperature drops below 45 degrees....

  • Will upgrading to A Load Range G Tire Make My Ride Harsher?
  • That is definitely something worth considering. The G rated tires will have a thicker sidewall than the E range So they can cause the ride to be a bit more stiff. Sometimes there are other factors that are contributing to the ride quality but stiffness of the tires sidewall can certainly be one of them. Do you know how much your 5th wheel weighs fully loaded? Knowing that may help narrow down the best load range of tire to go with. Maybe upgrading to something like an F range would be...

  • Recommended Replacement For A Brake Buddy Classic 3 Supplemental Braking System
  • When it comes to cost prices do fluctuate but at this time the lower end of the spectrum is going to be the Brake Buddy Classic 3 # HM39494 and then the Select 3 # HM39524. From there is the Roadmaster Even Brake # RM-9400 and then the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR. Out of these options I personally prefer the Select 3 # HM39524 because you get a remote that allows you to adjust your brake settings on the go without having to leave the cab of the motorhome. With the Brake Buddy systems each...

  • SumoSprings and Sway Bar For a Thor Compass On 2018 Ford Transit 350HD Chassis
  • Yes, I always prefer to also install the Front # CSS-1195F with the Rear # SSR-121-54 SumoSprings on your Thor Compass with the 2018 Ford Transit 350 HD chassis. The combination will greatly improve your ride quality and reduce the amount of sag the chassis will have due to the additional weight. We do offer the Hellwig Adjustable Rear Anti-Sway Bar # HE44YR for your Transit chassis. This is the only currently available sway bar I can find. The 1-3/8" chromoly steel bar is going to be...

  • Will A 30 Amp Solar Charge Controller Charge Batteries Faster Than A 10 Amp Solar Charge Controller
  • Hi Donald, Yes, a higher amperage charger, like the # GP76QR (30 amp), would be able to provide a faster recharge for your battery bank than a 10 amp controller like the # 34280503. When adding in the second battery you'll want to wire it in parallel with first battery and the charge controller can be still be wired to the first battery. Adding in a higher amperage controller doesn't mean that you'll automatically get more amperage though. You're still limited to the output of the panels...

  • Best Malone Roof Rack And Kayak Carrier For A 2019 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk With Factory Raised Rails
  • Hello Karl, you came to the right place. As far as the Malone roof rack for the 2019 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk with the factory installed side rails, I recommend going with the 65" Airflow2 Roof Rack. We have them available in silver # MPG217 and in black # MAL24AR. I like the longer 65" bars mainly because it will give you more space for your gear. I am not sure how many or what kind of kayaks you will be carrying, but you could easily two or possible 3 kayaks on a 65" bar, provided you...

  • Is A Load Range G Tire More Durable Than An E Range Tire?
  • Hey Mike thanks for your question. The short answer is yes, a higher rated tire like an F or G is going to be more durable or bulletproof than an E rated tire. The Load range G tires for example the Provider ST235/85R16 Radial Trailer Tire # TTWPRG235R16 has a 14 ply rating and is rated for 4,400 lbs at 110 psi. This means it has more layers of belt/cord than a 10 ply E rated tire, so they are able to bear more weight and hold more pressure. Assuming your fifth wheel is a tandem axle,...

  • Should SwayPro 1,000 lb Spring Bars Be Upgraded For Trailer With 946 lb Dry Tongue Weight
  • You definitely want to upgrade the spring bars on your SwayPro # BXW1000. This system is designed for a tongue weight of 750-1,000 lbs so you're almost outside of that range without loading anything. If this is a travel trailer you're going to have batteries and propane added on which will have you sitting right at the max. The # BXW4008 will change your tongue weight range to 1,000-1,500 lbs so you will be covered when empty and once you load the trailer. I do recommend measuring the...

  • How to Address a Sagging Rear End in a 2017 Ram 1500 Pulling a Travel Trailer
  • Congrats on the new truck! I saw you were looking at suspension enhancement but I want to point you towards using a weight distribution system to address the sagging. It will level out your truck and trailer by transferring some of the weight from your Ram's rear axle to the front. Your 2021 Forest River Vibe 26RK has a tongue weight right around 1,000 lbs when fully loaded. With this in mind, I recommend the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control item # EQ37120ET....

  • Recommended Truck Bed Camper Jack System For A 2013 Ram 2500 Dually
  • Hello Christy. I do have a potential option for you, but the Brophy Heavy Duty Cable Camper Jacks # CX74 are generally not recommended for dually trucks. Fitment can depend on the width of the truck compared to the width of the camper. In most cases, they will not clear the fenders on a dually. If the camper is the same width as the top of your bed rails there won't be a way to use a camper jack like this as they'd interfere, but if the width of the camper is same as dually fenders it would...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch for a 2021 Toyota Highlander With a Spare Tire Under the Car
  • David, there are trailer hitches for your 2021 Toyota Highlander. I recommend checking out the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e75ZR. This is a class III (2" x 2") hitch with a 5,000 lb weight capacity, and a 500 lb tongue weight capacity so you'll get plenty of capacity to do whatever you want (within reason). As far as your spare goes, if it's smaller than 18" then this hitch will work with it, but if it's bigger then you'll have to permanently remove it.

  • Best SumoSprings For 2023 Toyota Tacoma TRD For Towing & Load in Truck Bed
  • Hey Mike, thanks for the question and the best SumoSprings for your 2023 Toyota Tacoma TRD for a combination of towing and a load in your truck bed are the 1,400 lb springs: - SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SSR-612-40 The reason I like these over the 1,800 lb capacity # SSR-612-47 is because 1,400 lbs is more than enough to handle both the weight in your truck bed and the tongue weight of your trailer, and the 1,400 lb springs are also less dense, which means more cushioning...
